Ryan celebrates AYP success

Happy birthday wishes to Victoria Thomas.
A very special thank you to the folks at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for the delicious lunch they treated faculty and staff to last Friday.  The home-cooked meal and desserts were absolutely delicious.  The tables were set beautifully and crepe myrtles were lovely.  The ladies and other members of the church graciously served us at our tables.
Faye Marion provided gift bags for each of us. The teachers were encouraged to take school supplies as they wished from a table in the fellowship hall.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the lunch and such a pleasant break from their busy schedules preparing for the opening of school.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Ryan School, a sincere thank you.
Student, faculty and staff’s hard work has paid off as evidenced by Ryan School once again achieving Adequate Yearly Progress.  The evaluation is based on reading, mathematics and attendance and requirements to achieve AYP are stringent.  Students were treated to popsicles for their hard work.
Information regarding AYP status for all schools in Alabama is available on the Alabama State Department of Education website.  Click on the report section of the sidebar and then select “by school” and follow directions to select specific school and reports.
Congratulations everyone!
Last week the congregation at Mount Hermon sent Stella Mosley and her son Patrick on a mission to Ryan School. The delightful folks brought in three huge tubs of school supplies.  Thank you so much church for your support.
Sen.  Arthur Orr recently awarded $975.00 in grants to teachers at Ryan School.  The funds will provide for teaching materials that normally would have been paid for with state funds that have been cut.  Thank you, Sen. Orr.
