Orientations and open houses signal return to school

It still feels like summer, but thoughts are quickly turning to returning to school. Students return to Hartselle City Schools Aug. 10.

Hartselle High School
Hartselle High School has set several days for schedule pickups. The schedule is:
• Seniors, Aug. 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Juniors, Aug. 2, 2 – 6 p.m.
• Sophomores, Aug. 3, 2-6 p.m.
• Freshmen, Aug. 4, 2-6 p.m.
Schedules can be picked up on these days are fees are due.
Fees are $10 for locker; $10 for parking space; $10 for STI (allowing parents access via the computer to attendance and discipline records and grades); $60 for yearbook; and $15 for PTSO family membership.
Students will also be able to drop and add classes on their assigned dates. The fee is $10 and selections are limited.
All outstanding debts and non-returned textbooks must be cleared before Aug. 10.
For parents of incoming freshmen, an orientation for students and parents is planned for Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium.
Barkley Bridge Elementary School
Barkley Bridge Elementary School will hold orientation in the library Aug. 5. Times are:
• Fourth grade, 5 p.m.
• Third place, 5:30 p.m.
• First grade, 6 p.m.
• Fifth grade, 6:30 p.m.
Second grade orientation will be held Aug. 9 at 5 p.m. in the library.
Orientation for kindergarten parents (no students) will be Aug. 1 at 2 p.m.

F.E. Burleson Elementary School
Open house and orientation at F.E. Burleson is scheduled for:
• Kindergarten, first and second grades, Aug. 5, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
• Third, fourth and fifth grades, Aug. 8, 2-3 p.m.
• Extended day meeting, Aug. 8, 3-4 p.m.

Crestline Elementary School
A meeting for Crestline kindergarten parents will be Aug. 8 at 2 p.m.
Other meetings are:
• First grade parents, Aug. 8, 2 p.m.
• Second grade parents, Aug. 9, 6 p.m.
• Third grade parents, Aug. 9, 6 p.m.
• Fourth grade parents, Aug. 12, 6 p.m.
• Fifth grade parents, Aug. 9, 6 p.m.
Meet your teacher day is Aug. 9 at 8 a.m.

Hartselle Junior High School
Open House for sixth grade students will be Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. Seventh and eighth grade students who are new to HJHS are also invited to attend.
Lockers and planners for seventh and eighth graders at Hartselle Junior High school is planned for Aug. 5 from 1-2 p.m. for seventh graders and 2-3 p.m. for eighth graders.
Cost for planners is $4. Lockers are $15 and includes both book and gym locker.
Schedules for seventh and eighth graders will be issued during homeroom Aug. 10.
