Funeral for Myrtle Ruth Brown, 84, of Hartselle was Wed., July 28, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Hines officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Brown died Mon., July 26, 2010, at Decatur Health & Rehab Center. She was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Lauderdale County to Gurney Ausbury Lawrence and Vera Core Black Lawrence. She was an accomplished artist and was a member of HALMA, Association of Community Artists, Decatur Art Guild and International Society of Artists. She has artwork throughout the United States and several foreign countries. She was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Mitchell Brown.
She is survived by two brothers, W.A. Lawrence of South Pittsburg, Tenn. and Oscar Lawrence of Hartselle; and three sisters, Betty Sue Dixon Anthony, Ellen Levins and Fay Barber, all of Oak Ridge.
Pallbearers were nephews.
