Funeral for Sherman D. Stephenson, 68, of Hartselle was Tue., June 15, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Maples officiating.
Burial was in Bald Knob Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Mr. Stephenson died Fri., June 11, 2010, at his residence. He was born Mar. 21, 1942, in Morgan County to Prentiss Oswald Stephenson and Opal Lucille Harris Stephenson. He was a member of the Church of Christ and loved music and was a self-taught musician. He was a truck driver and a Standard Coffee route salesman. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany at a young age and was very good at training horses. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Sherman Victor Stephenson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Stephenson of Hartselle; a son, Timothy Paul Stephenson of Hartselle; a daughter, Vickie Sue Stephenson Bearden of Albertville; four brothers, Stanton Stephenson, Rayford Stephenson, Jerry Stephenson and Preston Stephenson, all of Hartselle; two sisters, Barbara A. Stephenson of Hartselle and Debra J. Stephenson of Virginia.; six stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Terry, Michelle, Misty, Michael and Brandon; and 11 nieces and nephews.
