Funeral for Kenneth D. Wood, 71, of Danville was Wed., June 2, at 2 p.m. at Danville Old Time Holiness Church with Bros. Mark Hicks, Larry Blackwell and Robert Kelley officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Morris Chapel Cemetery.
Bro. Wood died Fri., May 28, 2010. He was born April 13, 1939, in Lawrence County to Jody and Dora Wood. He was founder and pastor of Neel Church of Jesus Christ and later pastored Danville Old Time Holiness Church and Barnett’s Chapel Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Marie Gillespie Wood, a stepdaughter, Kelly Mount Atkins; two sisters, Dorothy Blake and Doris Milbourne; and two brothers, William and Odis Wood.
He is survived by two daughters, Tracy Hicks and husband Mark and Wendy Laurence and husband Vernon; eight grandchildren, Colton Clancy, Gabriel and Zachary Hicks, Kristen Fricks and husband Michael, Scarlett and Braden Laurence and Amber Atkins; two sisters, Alice Roper and Frances Downton; and a brother, Jimmy Wood.
