A hang up call to 911 led Hartselle police to a house where they discovered two people, including one who was babysitting a 7-year-old, in possession of marijuana.
Timothy Shane Rogers, 20, of 3224 Highway 31 SW in Hartselle, and Bailey Elizabeth Rogers, 24, of 1221 North Street SE Apt. Four in Decatur, were arrested March 6. Both are charged with possession of marijuana in the second degree and child endangerment. Timothy Rogers is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest came on the heels of a hang up call to 911. Officers followed up on the call and Timothy Rogers answered the door. Officers noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana from inside the house and police said Rogers said he had just smoked the drug. Rogers’ cousin, Bailey Rogers, was inside the house, as was a 7-year-old she was babysitting. Timothy Rogers’ bond was set at $3,000. Bailey Rogers’ bond was set at $2,000. The child was later released to its parents and the Department of Human Resources was notified.
