Sex offender arrested

A traffic stop in Morgan County last week led to the arrest of a convicted sex offender who had been living in Alabama since 2006.
Dana Edward Aills is charged with one count of failing to report an intent to move and failing to obtain Alabama identification as required as a convicted sex offender. Aills was identified after a traffic stop in Falkville, where it was discovered he was a registered sex offender in Pennsylvania and had an active warrant in Washington. Falkville police notified Morgan County Sheriff’s Office’s sex offender registration office, which began an investigation.
Investigators discovered Aills last registered in Pennsylvania in April 2005 and had been in Alabama since 2006.
