Funeral for Linda Pankey Duran, 61, of Priceville will be Thur. (today), March 25, at 1 p.m. at Cave Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Charlie Brown and B.J. Masters officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Albertville.
Mrs. Duran died on Mon., March 22, 2010, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. She was born Oct. 7, 1948, in Marshall County. She was retired from the Town of Priceville where she served as the Office Manager and Court Magistrate. She loved to volunteer her time to the community with activities such as Civitans, 50 Plus Club, Priceville Public Library, Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas parade and car show. She was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, James Pankey.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Loyd Duran Jr. of Priceville; a son, Melvin Duran III and wife Kristi of Priceville; two daughters, Karen Winchester and husband Chris of Priceville and Jennifer Burks and husband Kevin of Hartselle; her mother, Doris Ruby Pankey of Guntersville; three brothers, Leon Masters of Arkansas and Billy Masters and Wayne Pankey of Albertville; three sisters, Julia Slaten of Fyffe, Paulette Harvey of Atlanta and Martha Tidwell of Guntersville; seven grandchildren, Brittney Winchester, Abby Duran, Kassie Duran, Olivia Duran, Walker Duran, Connor Burks and Hannah Burks; a great-grandson, Ryder Doran.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff and nurses of Brookwood Medical Center for their wonderful compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Priceville Public Library.
