Red Cross kicks off Heroes campaign

The 2010 Heroes for American Red Cross Campaign has kicked off with "heroes" from Morgan and Lawrence Counties were recognized at a breakfast. During March 15 heroes from the community will be raising $1000 each by soliciting funds.
This year's heroes are: Elaine Maxey, RBC Bank, Decatur; Tiki Hubbard, Alabama Department of Public Health; Doug Bachuss, attorney; Nowlin and Associates; Jeff Parker, Parker Real Estate; Melissa Craig, Bank Independent; Chris and Ruth Priest, attorneys; Blackburn, Maloney, and Schuppert; Bettye English; community leader, Hartselle; Jim Page, vice-president; Decatur Chamber of Commerce; Lawrence County Rotary; Jonathan Sherrill; Regions Bank, Moulton; Morgan County Medical Society; JW's Steakhouse; Zach Richardson, Regions Bank, Hartselle; Sportsfit Wellness Centers; and Dillard's.
There will be several special events during March in conjunction with the HEROES campaign. On March 18 from 5-8 p.m., Red Cross volunteers and staff will wait tables at JW's Steakhouse for tips and donations to the chapter.
Apple Lane box lunches can be ordered for $10 and delivery March 26 – order online at www.morglawredcross.org or by calling 353-4891.
Dillard’s will host a benefit sale March 27 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 and purchasers will receive 20 percent off regular merchandise and 10 percent off sale merchandise and can be purchased at the Red Cross office at 431 Holly St. NE or at the door the day of the sale.
