Nancy Stapel Garrison

Funeral for Nancy Stapel Garrison, 71, of Hartselle was Wednesday, October 28, at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor Eddie officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Somerville Church of God Cemetery.
Mrs. Garrison died Sunday, October 25, 2009, at her residence. She was born April 20, 1938, in Illinois to Henry Stapel and Virginia Kirk Stapel. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was a Christian woman, devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family deeply.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Garrison of Hartselle; three daughters, Karen White and Lynn Sparks and husband Bernie, all of Somerville and Lisa Boger and husband Don of Athens; a brother, Alan Stapel and wife Chris of Foley; seven grandchildren, Amanda White of Priceville, Allison White and Erica Sparks, both of Somerville, Zac Metcalf and wife Tara of Eva, Kayla Metcalf and Logan Boger, both of Athens and Whitney Allen and husband Zack of Hartselle; three great-grandchildren, Cole Letson and Jayden White, both of Priceville and Chaseton Allen of Hartselle; a nephew, Scott Stapel and wife Samantha of Nashville; and a great-nephew, Blake Stapel.
Pallbearers were Donny Grantland, Greg Tucker, Zac Metcalf, Mike Davis, John Boger and Jeff Vice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley in memory of Nancy Garrison.
