Brewer's Trotter 10th overall at Oakville

OAKVILLE - Emily Trotter picked up her second top 10 finish of the season Saturday at the Chickasaw Trails Cross Country Invitational.
The Brewer senior ran a 20:57.05 to finish 10th overall in the girls’ Class 5A-6A race to lead the Lady Patriots to a 14th place finish in the 20-team race at the Oakville Indian Mounds Park.
The invitational, in its ninth season, drew more than 2,220 runners.
The Class 5A-6A girls’ race featured 370 runners.
The Lady Patriots’ Bree Watkins, a junior, was 47th overall after running a 22:44.58. Sophomore Katie Brakke was 66th overall after finishing the course with a time of 23:30.28.
Also counting in the team scores for the Lady Patriots was Felicia Prince (191st, 28:35.88) and Kaitlin Kurtz (35:14.85).
Brewer’s Clay Borden ran a 17:31.85 to finish 28th overall in the boys’ large school race. He was one of just 40 runners to run a sub-18:00 time at the course that will host the state meet in November..
The Patriots finished 18th out of 28 schools in the boys’ large school race.
Sam Martin was 61st with a 18:35.71, followed by Fernando Arellanes at 116th with a 19:26.92.
Also scoring for the Patriots was Juan Rodriguez (146th, 19:48.41), Jose Rodriguez (162nd, 20:05.52), Jordan Caudle (203rd, 20:46.90) and Cameron Cunningham (240th, 21:35.71).
Several other Brewer runners also competed in the event, including Clint Murphree and Ethan Sharp.
Priceville had three girls in the Class 1A-4A race with Brianna Jordan, an eighth grader, finishing 138th overall. She ran a 29:05.27. The Lady Bulldogs’ Paige Terry, a freshman, was 140th at 29:06.38.
Catherine Barber, also an eighth grader, was 145th at 29:15.30.
Falkville’s Natalee Estes was 147th overall in the Class 1A-4A race. The junior finished at 29.20.84 for the Lady Blue Devils.
Bailee Dunkin, also of Falkville, ran a 37:06.64 to finish 214th overall.
Priceville’s boys finished 24th overall in the Class 1A-4A race won by Harding Academy of Tennessee.
Eighth grader Tyler Johnson ran a 21:18.78 to lead the Bulldogs. He finished 84th overall out 244 finishers.
Rounding out the Priceville finishers were Jackson Morris (26:24.70), Spencer Johnson (26:38.02), Caleb Ward (26:49.13) and Justin Dozier (30:29.07).
Falkville’s Heath Blanchard (22:40.25) and Michael Hopper (22:48.21) finished 124th and 128th respectively.
The Blue Devils’ Evan Cottingham was 190th at 25:30.20.
