Pot plants found in Falkville

By Staff
A helicopter search in Falkville uncovered marijuana plants and led to the arrest of an area man.
Michael Joseph Paquette, 24, of Wilhite Road, is charged with unlawful possession in the second degree.
According to Sheriff Greg Bartlett, deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force assisted with a July 27 aerial search of 88 Sammy Bryant Road leading to the discovery of 29 marijuana plants. The marijuana was planted in soil in large buckets and tied down with twine. The plants ranged in size from approximately 7 feet to 1 foot tall and had an estimated value of $30,000.
Sheriff’s deputies said Paquette had earlier found to be in possession of a large marijuana plant.
Further investigation is pending, Bartlett said, and felony charges are anticipated.
