Man arrested for burglary

The sharp eye of a neighbor and a quick reaction by deputies led to an arrest March 19.
Bertha Henderson called 911 and reported she saw a suspicious person in the White Pine Private Drive area in Hartselle. The person was described as a white rmale who stopped by a neighbor's hosue saying his car was broken down and asked to use their phone to call for a ride. The man left after being picked up by someone operating a newer model red van.
Deputies responding to the scene found a vehicle matching that description on Mt. Tabor Road and stopped it. It was being driven by a woman with a male passenger, Clifford Allen Barbee, 26, of 619 East Lacon Road, Falkville. Both were detained by deputies.
They later discovered a burglary had occurred at White Pine Private Drive and that Barbee was a suspect.
Barbee was taken into custody in connection with the burglary.
