Funeral for Joan Moody, 78, of Arley was Tuesday, Mar. 3, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Moody died Sat., Feb. 28, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 18, 1930, in Chambers County to the late Howard Franklin Burroughs and Mary Myrtle Bice Burroughs. She graduated from Valley High School and Samford University. She married Dr. J.E. Moody in 1950 and taught school during the 1950s. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and daughter.
She is survived by her husband. Dr. James E. Moody of Arley; a son, Col. James E. Moody Jr. and wife Cathy of Springfield, Va.; two daughters, Jerri White and husband Larry of Birmingham and Jill Cilimberg and husband Craig of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister, Frances Floyd of Valley Head; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Honorary pallbearers were Ryan Moody, Zack Moody, Michael Cilimberg, Matthew Cilimberg, Larry White and Craig Cilimberg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Association.
