Davis H. Darwin

Funeral for Davis H. Darwin, 90, of Decatur was Monday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Norman officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Darwin died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born January 8, 1919, in Madison County to Jefferson Davis Darwin and Edna Earle Woodard Darwin. He was a member of Telephone Company Pioneers. He was preceded in death by two wives, Merth Chastain Darwin and Kathryn Bobbitt Darwin and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Gadsby of Cullman; three sons, Davis H. Darwin, III of Grand Bay, William J. Darwin of Hartselle and Gary Wayne Darwin of Decatur; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Darwin, Jason Darwin, Davis Darwin, Sam “Buddy” Darwin, Phil Garrison and Robert Key.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes, P.O. Box 361767, Birmingham, Ala., 35236-1767.
