Edwin ‘Whittler’ Pike

Funeral for Edwin “Whittler” Pike, 74, of Neel was Friday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mason Booth and Charlie Brown officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr Pike died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at Riverside Senior Living. He was born Aug. 30, 1934, in Lawrence County to Ernest Pike and Nettie Burnett Pike. He was a member of Neel United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired member of Teamsters Union #402.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Wallace Pike of Neel; two sons, Eddie Pike and wife Pam and Mark Pike and wife Patti, all of Decatur; a brother, Raymon Pike of Decatur; two sisters, Brenda Pike Lawson and Charlotte Pike Letson, both of Neel; and five grandchildren, Lillie, David, Kyle, Andrew and Jay Pike.
Pallbearers were Larry Wallace, Keith McCay, Todd Pike, Chris Sapp and grandsons David Pike and Kyle Pike.
Honorary pallbearers were Brent Sapp and Alex Huggins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chris Wallace Scholarship Fund, c/o Neel United Methodist Church, 261 Wynn-Wallace Road, Hartselle, AL 35640.
