Funeral for Ruth Garner, 91, of Hartselle will be Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Hines officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Garner died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1917, in Morgan County to Jim Cox and Edda Calloway Cox. She was retired from Hartselle Medical Center where her patients remember her as loving and compassionate. Her grandchildren were her delight and she loved yard work and sewing. She was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Garner; her parents; a son, Jack Garner; three brothers, Leemon Cox, James Cox and Homer Cox; and a sister, Ruby Cox.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Garner and wife Jane of Hartselle; two daughters, Linda Holladay and husband Buren of Danville, Gail Conner and husband Kenneth of Hartselle; a daughter-in-law, Margarue Garner of Hartselle; six grandchildren, Sharon Horton, Sonya Lett, Angelia Curtis, Sandra Owens, Michael Conner and Thomas Holladay; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Owens, Zac Owens, Randy Curtis, Thomas Holladay, Keith Lett and Michael Conner.
