Downtown group launches new year

By By Clif Knight, Hartselle Enquirer
Hartselle’s Downtown Merchants Association has set its sights high for a banner year in 2009.
Included in its plans is the establishment of a website that will be used to promote activities of the association, as well as serve as a membership directory. The group also plans sponsorship of a spring trade promotion under the name of “Arts, Artifacts and Antiques.”
Memberships reached 31 in 2008 and Green said he is optimistic about getting others to join.
The annual membership fee is $120, which can be paid quarterly, semi-annually or annually. For membership information, you may call Green at 773-7736, Gary McCaig at 773-0009 or Melba Johnson at 751-1825.
