Funeral for Jessie Lee George, 64, of Baileyton was Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Bryan officiating.
Burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Mr. George died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at his residence. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He loved to play bluegrass gospel music with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Collins George.
He is survived by two daughters, Jenny Johnson of Eva and Regina Lackey and husband Danny of Tuscumbia; his mother, Perna George of Baileyton; two brothers, Paul George of Arab and James George of Somerville; three sisters, Ginger Durham of Baileyton, Mary Ryan of Baileyton and Cathy George of Decatur; and three grandsons, Justin Isbell of Wichita, Kan., Caleb Lackey of Tuscumbia and Brady Johnson of Eva.
Pallbearers were Steven Ryan, Glenn Marlar, Donald Roden, Byram Blackwood, Terry Hudson and Dan Ryan.
Honorary pallbearers were grandsons.
