Funeral for Matilda Dollar, 92, of Booneville, Miss. was Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with Bro. J.C. Dollar officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Dollar died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. She was born May 15, 1916, in Morgan County, Ga. to Henry Jefferson and Lucy Irene Malcolm Jefferson. A 1937 graduate of Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga., she taught high school and elementary school subjects at several schools in Morgan County including Eva, Danville, Falkville, West Morgan, Moulton Heights and Austinville. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Booneville, Miss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Monroe Dollar; three brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Penny Dollar of Hartselle and Rita D. McCarter of Booneville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Brent McCarter, Shane McCarter, Gwin Pirkle, Dan Prater, Lamar Millwood and Jimmy Brazelton.
