Emmett Clarence ‘E.C.’ Waldrop

Funeral for Emmett Clarence “E.C.” Waldrop, 77, of Hartselle was Saturday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Robert Sparkman and Harold Thompson officiating. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Waldrop died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital.
He was born June 2, 1931, in Jefferson County to James Caswell Waldrop and Alma Bertie Franklin Waldrop. He was a member of Hartselle First United Methodist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Redstone Arsenal in 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Lucile Waldrop of Hartselle; two sons, Jay Waldrop and wife Rhonda of Northport and Michael Waldrop and wife Laura of Marietta, Ga.; a daughter, Carol McCalman and husband Mike of Daphne; two brothers, James Caswell Waldrop Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. and Robert Carl Waldrop of Hueytown; a sister, Myra Nell Brock of Alabaster; and a grandchild, Cole Waldrop.
