Buddy Walk raises syndrome awareness

The North Alabama Down Syndrome Society’s inaugural Buddy Walk is set for Oct. 14 at Sparkman Park.
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. with the walk beginning at 1 p.m.
There will be food, carnival games, horseback rides and entertainment, all provided free of charge.
The Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk designed to raise awareness for people with Down syndrome. Participants will include people with Down syndrome from the Tennessee Valley and the surrounding areas and their families, friends, teachers, coworkers and other supporters.
