Aug. 31, 1956—A son was born to Dr. and Mrs. James S. Martin at Hartselle Hospital today.
Sept. 1, 1956—Frank Stewart, Robert Peck and Joe Thompson left today for Fort Jackson, S.C., where they will attend a two-week ROTC camp.

Sept. 2, 1956—Local residents who want to work on a college degree but who can’t leave home to do it will be pleased to learn that credits for three television courses will be granted to stay-at-home students by the University of Alabama this fall.
Sept. 3, 1956—Betty Palmer, Susan Stewart, Sarah Ann Thompson, Billy Evans, Oscar Knox, John Howell and Bobby White will leave soon to enroll at Auburn for the upcoming school year.
Jimmy Cain, Bobby Ray Hicks, Billy Charles Tanner, Max Merrill, and Ike and Joe Groover will be students at UA.
Sept. 4, 1956—L. N. (Spec) Speake has recently obtained a state license as a real estate salesman and is now associated with his father, Fred M. Speake, in the latter’s real estate firm.
Sept. 4, 1956—Burl Hardwick recently purchased two Aberdeen-Angus bulls.
Sept. 5, 1956—At nine this morning Morgan County High School began its 46th year of service with an enrollment of 565 pupils, 23 teachers, a secretary, three lunchroom workers, nine bus drivers, and a janitor. Rev. E. M. Barnes was the guest speaker at the opening program.
Sept. 5, 1956—Mrs. Cline Thompson started her kindergarten class today.
Sept. 6, 1956—The 1955-56 MORCOHI, annual of last year for Morgan County High School, made a tardy arrival this week.
This is the first annual to be published in five or six years at the high school.
Sept. 6, 1956—Reserved seat season tickets to Morgan County High School football games are now on sale at Nu-Way Cleaners on a first come-first served basis.
