Starr, Field exchange vows
Summer Starr of Hartselle and Shelby Nathan Field of Oklahoma City, Okla. were wed Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at 7 p.m. at Ivory Gardens in Norman, Okla. with Minister David Graves officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David and Teena Starr of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Betty Field of Oklahoma City and the late Bill Field.
Wedding colors were navy blue, white and silver with accents of ivy throughout the church. Candles were placed at the end of each ivy-draped pew and a three-tiered candelabra was placed at the altar.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin, strapless gown featuring beaded embroidery and a short train accompanied by a satin veil. Her bouquet and matching floral arrangements of navy blue, white and silver flowers accented with ivy were handmade by her mother.
Brooke Baker of Falkville, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Holly Starr of Hartselle, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. They wore strapless, floor length dresses of navy blue satin.
Madison Starr, daughter of the bride and groom, was flower girl. Judson Baker of Falkville, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
John Porter and Marc Sorenson, both of Oklahoma City, were best men.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Ivory Gardens.
The bride’s table featured a white, three-tiered cake with navy blue accents and a floral topper created by the bride’s mother.
The groom’s table featured a double chocolate, two-tiered cake topped with chocolate shavings.
Sharla Irby, owner of Ivory Gardens, was wedding director. Ivory Gardens’ staff assisted with the reception.
Guests blew bubbles as the couple departed for a cruise to the Bahamas. They will reside in Choctaw, Okla.
A rehearsal dinner was held Aug. 11 at the couple’s favorite restaurant, Charleston’s.
The couple was honored with several prenuptial events, including a wedding shower held July 30 at their new home hosted by the groom’s mother.
