Formby, McKee exchange vows
Beverly Nicole Formby of Centre and James Case McKee of Hartselle were wed Saturday, June 17, 2006, at 7 p.m. at the Carraway-Davie House of Birmingham with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Phillip and Gaye Roberts and David Formby, all of Centre. The groom is the son of Steve and Susan McKee of Hartselle.
The outdoor wedding was held in a gazebo featuring a chandelier draped in flowers. A garland of white roses, tulips, lilies, peonies and hydrangeas adorned the gazebo entrance. Topiaries of white flowers marked the aisles with white rose petals delicately scattered down the aisle.
The bride, given in marriage by her step-father, wore a gown of silk taffeta designed by Amsale.
The gathered halter ball gown with a deep V-neckline and ruched cumberbund featured beaded applique accents at the midriff. The bustle-backed skirt fell into a chapel length train.
Her veil featured a fine silver edge and she carried a bouquet of French white tulips.
Jennifer Lee of Nashville was maid of honor.
Bridal attendants were Kelly Meadows of Hartselle, sister of the groom, Amy Travis of Jacksonville, and Jessica Hughes of Tampa, Fla. They wore floor-length strapless gowns of cashmere-colored satin and carried bouquets of white roses.
The groom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Brandon Formby of Centre, brother of the bride, Tyde Meadows of Hartselle, brother-in-law of the groom, and Heath Kirby of Dothan.
Ushers were Jonathan Sanford of Centre, cousin of the bride, and David Sanford of Nashville, cousin of the bride.
Music was provided by pianist Lola Johnston, guitarist and vocalist David Sanford, and vocalist Brandon Formby.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Carraway-Davie House.
Cathy Wood was wedding director.
The couple honeymooned in the Fiji Islands. They reside in Birmingham.
A rehearsal party hosted by the groom’s parents was held June 16 at the Marriott Grandview of Birmingham.
A bridal luncheon hosted by Judy James and Rene/ Miller was held May 27 at the Chocolate Biscuit Tea Room of Trussville.
The couple was honored with several prenuptial events, including:
