Jewell Dempsey Cobb

Funeral for Jewell Dempsey Cobb, 78, of Somerville was Friday, July 14, at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church with the Rev. Melvin Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Cobb died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Morgan County to Claude Franklin Dempsey and Doney Brown Dempsey. She was a member of Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church, a homemaker, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed life and always looked at the bright side of life, never letting things get her down. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Cobb, who died July 19, 1988.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Cobb Davis and husband Ernest Harry Davis of Cotaco; two grandsons, Joe Stewart and Billy Wayne Stewart and wife Donna, all of Cotaco; a great-granddaughter, Casey Brook Stewart of Cotaco; a great-grandson, Dylan Way Stewart of Cotaco; and a great number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were William Dempsey, Kirk Brown, Don Stewart, Carl Davis, Tim Patrick, Randy Wilkerson, Tim Brown, Cody Chunn, Steve Stewart, Kenny Goff, Robert Dempsey and Tim Davis.
