Velma Louise Hogan

Funeral for Velma Louise Hogan, 92, of Decatur was Saturday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hank Smith officiating,
Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery in the Speake community.
Mrs. Hogan died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Feb. 12, 1914, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. to Thomas Hensley and Carrie Harris Hensley. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hogan, and two sons, James Waymon Hogan and Bobby Don Hogan.
She is survived by a sister, Betty Sharp of Decatur; six granddaughters, Donnette Ledbetter and husband Larry, Jeanie Brown and husband Jimmy, Susie McMillan and husband Bob, Cindy Smith and husband Gary, Mona McTaggert and husband David, all of Decatur, and Sherry Barkett and husband Gregg of Trinity; two step-grandsons, Hal Barley and wife Karen of Athens, and Terry Barley and wife Carol of Hartselle; 18 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Scottie Hubbard, Kerry Hubbard, Brandon Smith, Chris Smith, Jamie Brown and Allen Ledbetter.
The family requests that any memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley or Decatur Free Clinic.
