Funeral for Joe Clemons, 73, of Decatur was Saturday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at Annunciation of The Lord Catholic Church with Father Rayburn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Mr. Clemons died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at his residence with his devoted wife of 49 years at his side. He was born Oct. 27, 1932, to William Henry Clemons and Ruby Mae Ross Clemons. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He served in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War and was retired from Wolverine Tube as a supervisor after 39 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Edna Sellers.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Clemons of Decatur; two sons, Ronnie Joe Clemons and wife Judy of Lacey's Spring, and Barry Lynn Clemons and wife Diane of Merritt Island, Fla.; a sister, Juanita Frost of Decatur; and eight grandchildren, Steven and Brady Clemons, Jamie Whitten and Jonathan, Josh and Sarah Clemons.
Pallbearers were Ray Warren, Bobby Walker, Tommy Defoe, Billy Gene Clemons, Robert Clemons and John Montgomery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Decatur.
