Horsemanship camp in July
Keeping It Natural Stables of Eva is holding a horsemanship day camp Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The day camp will teach riders how to get respect from their horse, how to learn the horse's language and other useful skills. The fee is $100 but there is limited space so interested riders must contact Jim@kinstables.com right away. Participants must pay in advance by July 10. KIN Stables is located at 5364 Highway 55 East in Eva.
Karate clinic set for July
Donnie Chappell, head instructor at Chappell's Family Karate, will be teaching life skills in a Christian environment. The clinic will take place from July 17-21 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Ages 3-5 will attend for one hour and ages 6 and older will attend for two hours. The fee is $20 for the younger ages and $30 for the older ages. Please register and pay by July 14. For more information, call Chappell's Family Karate at 751-3325.
Clinic planned late this month
Clairday's Sports Center in Hartselle is hosting a competition cheerleading camp July 24-July 27. The camp fee is $75 and includes a t-shirt. There will be a tryout for Hartselle Extreme Athletic Tumbling (HEAT) July 29 at 10 a.m. at the Sports Center. For more information or to register, call 874-0044 or 773-5269.
Girl's golf tourney soon
The 43rd Annual WAGA Junior Girls Championship will be at Burningtree Golf Club in Decatur July 9-12.
The WAGA championship is open to any girls ages 9-18 who have an interest in playing golf. Those interested in participating must immediately contact Sissy Sparkman at 773-2034.
Morgan PRD league is soon
The Morgan County Park and Recreation Department is looking for teams to play in its church league at South Park in Falkville. For more information call 773-2564.
Disc golf meets every Tuesday
Anyone interested in playing a casual doubles tournament in disc golf can meet at Sparkman Park's Hole No. 1 (near the baseball fields and parking lot) every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Discs are provided and novice players will be teamed up with more experienced players to make the teams even.
