A public hearing will be conducted July 12 as a part of the process of seeking a $250,000 Community Development Block Grant for an addition to the senior center at Sparkman Civic Center. The meeting will be held at noon in the senior meeting room.
Public comments will be included as part of a grant application being prepared for submittal to the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
The proposed addition would give senior citizens their own meeting area complete with kitchen.
A local match of $50,000 has already been pledged by the Morgan County Commission.
