O. Q. Childers

Funeral for O. Q. Childers, 73, of Eva was Tuesday, June 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Coffey officiating.
Burial was in Lawrence Cove Cemetery in Eva.
Mr. Childers died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born March 8, 1933, in Morgan County to M. O. Childers and Vera Drinkard Childers. He owned and operated Childers Pine Shavings business for 36 years and was co-founder of MedCall Ambulance Service. Mr. Childers was a member of First Assembly of God in Cullman and was an active supporter of his church, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his brother, Birlen Childers.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Childers of Eva; two sons, David Oliver Childers and wife Jennifer of Decatur and Jr. Heaton of Oden Ridge; two brothers, Laco Childers of Cullman and Billy Childers of Oden Ridge; five sisters, Ruby Bailey, Angie Veal, Lizzie Holmes and Bernice Chesser, all of Cullman and Susie Childers of Oden Ridge; and four grandchildren, Dillon Oliver Childers, Carson David Childers, Kadyn Daly Childers and Adam Heaton.
Pallbearers were Leemon George, Jimmy Holmes, Randy Schnittker, Richard George, Jason Holmes and Alton Page.
