Barbara R. Williams Davis

Funeral for Barbara Ruth Williams Davis, 64, formerly of Hartselle, was Sunday, June 4, at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Ill.
Mrs. Davis died Monday, May 29, 2006. She was the daughter of Shelvie Williams Sr. and Knewtie Bell Williams. She attended Morgan County Training School in Hartselle. Mrs. Williams was the founder and CEO of Unique Office Services, Inc., a full service staffing agency located in downtown Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. She was a very active member of the Chicago area community. Her community service included serving as a board member of the Cosmopolitan Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Association, Lawson House YUMCA and Southwest Community Service Organization. She was preceded in death by her mother, Knewtie Williams; a sister, Carolyn Williams; and a brother, Shelvie Williams Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Davis Sr.; her children, Bruce Davis Jr. and wife Michel and DeShaunne Davis-Bailey and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Kennedy and Braxton, Davis of Chicago, Ill.; her father, Shelvie Williams Sr., of Hartselle; two brothers, Don Wayne Williams and wife Sandra of Locust Grove, Ga. and Larry Williams and wife Carolyn of Tanner; three sisters, Charlene Miller of Cleveland, Ohio, Shirley Marie Love and husband Cornelius of Eolia, Mo. and Gloria Davis and husband Joe of Hartselle.
