Weddings and engagements

Foote, Jackson exchange vows
Jennifer Ann Foote of Falkville and Shane Devon Jackson of Decatur were wed April 29, 2006, at 4:30 p.m. at Vinemont Christian Church with the Rev. Ernest Morris officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Norman and Raymonda Foote of Falkville. The groom is the son of Jack and Avon McMillan of Decatur.
The church and altar were decorated with arrangements of roses, gladiolas, lilies and assorted flowers of red, yellow and purple. Peace lilies, ferns and candelabras completed the d/cor.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal A-line haltered-neckline gown of ivory and dark red Italian matte satin with Schissilli embroidered lace accented with hand-sewn pearls and iridescent sequins.
Her mid-length veil of ivory lace with red satin edging was held by a diamond-studded tiara.
Her bouquet featured a cascade of confetti roses with yellow oncidium orchids and was hand-tied with red French ribbon.
Janet Foote, twin sister of the bride, of Falkville was maid of honor.
Bridal attendants were Jennie Foote, sister-in-law of the bride, of Falkville and Morgan Alexander of Addison.
They wore floor-length dresses of red satin with empire waists, butterfly chiffon cap sleeves, and flowing trains. They carried bouquets of confetti roses, yellow lilies and green hypericum with stems wrapped in pale yellow French ribbon.
The groom's father was best man.
Groomsmen were Mark Childers of Hartselle, Damon Morgan of Moulton, John Foote, brother of the bride, of Falkville, Erik Ray, cousin of the bride, Robert Slack and Dave Bailey, all of Decatur.
Music was provided by Monica Higginbotham of Falkville.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
The bride's table featured a three-tier cake with yellow and purple roses, silver and crystal appointments, and four satellite cakes. Nuts and mints also sat atop the table covered with Battenburg lace.
The groom's table featured chocolate cakes, nuts and mints and was decorated in a fisherman motif.
Jennie Foote and Becky Rowe were wedding directors. Stephanie Morgan and Marketa Letson were servers. Sarah Holmes was caterer. Teresa Fincher was photographer and Paul Chaney was videographer.
Christin Casteel of Decatur attended the bride's book.
The coupled honeymooned in Montana. They reside in Falkville.
A rehearsal party hosted by the groom's parents was held April 28 at Fire Mountain Restaurant.
A bridal luncheon hosted by the bride's mother was held April 8 at Cracker Barrel.

Minor, Thompson to wed June 23
Mr. and Mrs. C. David and Sandra Holmes of Falkville announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Gay Minor, to Patrick Alan Thompson, son of Bonnie S. Thompson of Falkville and the late Jimmy R. Thompson.
The bride-elect is a 1996 graduate of Falkville High School and a 2005 graduate of Athens State University with a bachelor's degree in education. At ASU, she was a member of Sigma Tau Delta honor society. She is employed with Cold Springs High School of Cullman as an English teacher. She is the granddaughter of Nelda Holmes of Falkville, Bernice Stringer of Hartselle, the late Joseph Holmes Jr. and the late John B. Stringer.
She is the great granddaughter of Cora Dunaway of Falkville.
The groom-elect is a 1999 graduate of Falkville High School and a 2004 graduate of The University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in education.
He is employed with Wal-Mart Distribution of Cullman. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman and Opal Smith of Hartselle and the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. "Buster" and Zona Thompson.
The wedding will be June 23 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Falkville.
Jarrett, Sloan to wed June 17
James Ciciora of Fayetteville, N.C. and Kathryn Ciciora of Monroe, Ga. announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Anne Marie Jarrett of Decatur, to Joshua Alan Sloan of Decatur, son of Guy Sloan of Hartselle and Kim Bundy of Decatur.
The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Hartselle High School and is employed with Guthrie Enterprises as a secretary.
She is the granddaughter of Nita Kleetz of Hartselle, Mary Ciciora of Naples, Fla., the late Chuck Kleetz and the late Stan Ciciora.
The groom-elect is a 2001 graduate of Hartselle High School and is employed with the city of Decatur as a police officer. He is the grandson of John and Elaine Sloan of Rossville, Fla., and Donna Blackwell of Clearwater, Fla.
The wedding will be June 17 at Southern Cross Farms.
