Teams sought for league
The Morgan County Park and Recreation Department is looking for teams to play in its church league at South Park in Falkville. For more information, call 773-2564.
Raptors plan tryouts
The River City Raptors Girls Soccer Club will hold fall tryouts for all teams (Division one, two and three) will be held at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex at Southwest Park in Decatur June 3-6. Rain dates are June 12-13.
All players regardless of age will need a parent there to sign medical release and tryout application. There is no charge for participating in tryouts. Players should arrive 15 minutes before scheduled tryout time to register and get their tryout number. Bring shin guards, a soccer ball and water.

Hoops camp scheduled
A basketball camp open to second through ninth graders will be conducted at Danville High School Gymnasium June 5-19 under the guidance of Robert Pope, boys head basketball coach at Danville High School. Assisting him will be coaches Sam Brown, Bruce Fitzgerald, Greg Keenum and Nick Cottrell.
The five-day camp will be in session from 8:30 a.m. until noon. The fee is $45 per camper. Included will be a T-shirt and refreshments.

Benefit set for needy family
The Tennessee River Coon Hunters' Association will hold a benefit at club headquarters in Lacey's Spring June 10 for Darrell and Angela Parsons. Darrell Parsons has had five heart attacks in the past two months and Angela Parsons was diagnosed with cancer in October. All proceeds from the benefit will go directly to the Parsons. The benefit will begin at 10 a.m. with a meat shoot. A horseshoe tournament will be at 1 p.m. with registration at 12:30 p.m. There will be a cake auction at 6 p.m. and a drawing for $100 at 7 p.m. Directions to the headquarters are: start at River Bridge and take U.S. 231 South, then turn right on Fields Road at the caution light. MLS clinic set for June
This camp will be taught by MLS players to boys and girls ages 9-18. The camp is June 12-16 from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Field. Admission is $105. Contact Darrell Harris at 773-0845 for more information.
Soccer clinic planned for June
The AYSO clinic will be June 12-16 for ages 4-and-older. It will begin at 9 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. the remainder of the week. The clinic will be held at Walker Field and the fee of $27 includes a T-shirt and daily refreshments. Each participant is asked to wear shin guards and bring a soccer ball, if possible. Please pay and register at Sparkman Civic Center by June 9. For more information call 773-0845.
