Voters who cast ballots at Precincts 10-1 (Morgan County District 4 Shop) and 11-1 (Union Church of Christ) in the 2004 General Election will cast their ballots in a different location in the upcoming June 6 Primary Election, according to Adonis Bailey, chairperson of the Morgan County Board of Registrars.
"We eliminated those two precincts and reassigned their voters to other precincts in the same general area," Bailey said.
"Subsequently, the voters affected by the change were notified by mail and told what precinct they should vote at in future elections. There may be some voters who either didn't receive a notice of precinct change or who have a question about where they're supposed to go vote," she added. "In either case, they should contact the voter registrars office in the Morgan County Courthouse either in person or by phone at 351-4660."
Bailey said Morgan County now has 45 precincts instead of 47 and has about 62,000 registered voters.
The registrars office will accept voter registration applications until May 26 at 4:30 p.m.
