Funeral for Mary Anne Maples, 86, of Falkville was Sunday, April 23, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sammy Evans officiating.
Burial was Monday, April 24, at 10 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham.
Mrs. Maples died Friday, April 21, 2006, at Falkville Healthcare Center. She was born June 2, 1919, in Franklin County to William A. Carpenter and Velma Kent Carpenter. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hollis Maples; three brothers, Owen, Denzel and William "Buddy" Carpenter; and three sisters, Pearl Carpenter Moland, Ola Carpenter Conner and Earlene Carpenter Holmes.
Survivors include her guardians, Wayne Carpenter of Trinity and Carolyn Lemaster of Hartselle; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Franklin Holmes, David Holmes, Shane Burgess, Connie Holmes, Curtis Lemaster and Bobby Ryder.
