Margaret F. McLain Childers

Margaret F. McLain Childers, wife, mother and grandmother died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Gulf Breeze Hospital in Florida.
Visitation services will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze.
Burial will follow at Barrancas Navel Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Childers, "Mamau," was born in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., on Oct. 23, 1938, to Frank and Willie McLain.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hartselle. A loving wife, caring mother and grandmother, she was always willing to help others.
Margaret and John Childers were married on Dec. 29, 1957, in Hartselle.
After her many travels with her husband during John's naval career, they settled in Gulf Breeze, Fla., in 1971. Besides her joy of flowers, shopping and coaching the girls Gulf Breeze Rec Center softball team for many years, her love was sharing laughter under her shade tree while watching her grandchildren play.
Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by her sister, Bettye Sue Ward of Hartselle and her parents, Frank and Willie McLain.
She is survived by her husband, John Wallace Childers; two daughters, Bettye Maree Arzberger and Sharon Lee Perdue and husband Steve; a sister, Estha Sims and husband Dr. George W. Sims; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Arzberger and Chase and Brie Perdue; brother-in-law, Joel Ward; nephews Keith Sims and wife Jana and Barry Ward; and niece Jaymain Hartsell and family; and great-niece Juliana Sims.
Pallbearers will be current and past members of the Gulf Breeze Volunteer Fire Dept. and friends, Dr. J. Lance Reese, Tom Bosworth, Shane Carmichael, Lee Reynolds, Robert Minshull and Ed Bonifay.
Donations may be made to The Baptist Health Care Foundation for Gulf Breeze Hospital.
