Hartselle tennis splits against Fort Payne

Hartselle took the victory April 6 against the Wildcats in the eight-game pro set format. At No. 1 singles, Keeton Light took the win. Anthony Penick won at No. 2, Alex Brown won at No. 3, Jon Self took the victory at No. 4 and AJ McNutt won at No. 5 singles. In the doubles competition, Light and Brown lost in a tough tie breaker 8-8, 7-4. The teams of Penick/Self and McNutt/Josiah Weems both won their matches.

Fort Payne girls 4
Candice Light won at No. 1 singles, Katie Kilgore won at No. 3, Dana Watson at No. 4, Brittany Woodall at No. 5 and Jessica Niles took the victory at No. 6 singles.
In double competition, the team of Light and McElwee went to a tiebreaker before falling by the score of 8-8, 8-6. The teams of Watson/Kilgore and Niles/Jessica Bryan were both victorious in their matches.

Although Hartselle took the team loss, a pair of Tigers took wins in singles. At No. 1, Keeton Light defeated Lucas Lampkin 6-1, 6-2, and Jon Self defeated Zane Zettler 6-3, 6-7, 10-6.

Albertville girls 1
Hartselle took each of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches in its dominating victory.
At No. 2 singles, Sadie McElwee took the victory. Katie Kilgore won at No. 3 singles, Dana Watson at No. 4, Brittany Woodall at No. 5 and Jessica Niles at No. 6.
In the doubles matches, McElwee and Niles won at No. 1, Watson and Kilgore took the No. 2 matchup, and Kara Ricketts and Woodall were victorious at No. 3.
