Funeral for Sarah Corine Collins, 87, of Somerville was Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph McCollum officiating.
Burial was in New Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Collins died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Marshall Medical Center in Arab. She was born April 22, 1918, in Morgan County to Allison Mason Lemmond and Clara Dunnaway Lemmond. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and an active member of the Florette Senior Center. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Audie Collins; a son, Frankie Collins; a daughter, Hilda George; a granddaughter, Pamela Jones; two brothers, Howard Lemmond and Paul Lemmond; and a sister, Lola Grady.
She is survived by two sons, Melvin Collins of Somerville and Bobby Collins of Somerville, Tenn.; four daughters, Helen McNutt of Massey, Hazel Drinkard of Cullman and Freda Blackwood and Brenda Latham, both of Eva; a brother, Marvin Lemmond of Somerville; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
