Lady Blue Devils advance in area tournament
Falkville advanced to the second round of the Class 2A Area 14 tournament in Priceville Monday night with a 50-28 win over Catholic.
Eighth-grader Emily Dabbs scored 13 points to lead the Lady Blue Devils and Alesia Smith added 12 for Falkville, who defeated Catholic twice during the regular season.
Falkville faces No. 1 seed and host team Priceville Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. During the regular season, Priceville won both regular season meetings between the teams.

Hartselle Dixie Youth baseball registration for the 2006 season will continue through Feb. 21 at the Encore Sports Enhancement Center on Highway 31, South.
Amateur boxing event planned
Clairday's Boxing Sport Center in Hartselle will hold an Amateur's Boxing Challenge Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 773-5269.

Walton Ashwander was incorrectly identified as "Walton Asherbranner" in the cutline under a photograph of the Hartselle freshmen basketball team in the Feb. 2 edition of the Hartselle Enquirer.
