Mack Simmons

Funeral for Mack Simmons, 76, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church with Pastor Myron Mooney officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Simmons died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1929, in Morgan County to Elton H. Simmons and Annie Mae Bogle Simmons.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a farmer, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorene Simmons; a son, Roger James; and two sisters, Audrey Tucker and Jean Collins.
He is survived by three sons, Marlin James and Earnie James, both of Eva and Buddy Simmons of Hartselle; four daughters, Frances McCutcheon and Ann Simmons, both of Hartselle, Gail Ruffner of Covington, Ga. and Jean Shook of Florence; three brothers, Joel Simmons of Dewey, Ariz., Noah Simmons of Hartselle and Arthur Simmons of Decatur; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Josh James, Nick James, Wiley Borden, Patrick Simmons, Allen McCutcheon and Ben Trasher.
Honorary pallbearers were Joseph Simmons, Tyler Grantland, Adam Simmons, Zachary Strickling and Lane Grantland.
