John William Clemons

Funeral for John William Clemons, 79, of Hartselle was Sunday, Jan. 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Garrison officiating.
Burial was in Moss Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Clemons died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at his residence. He was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Morgan County to Charles Luther Clemons and Janie Marie Slaten Clemons. He was a member of East Highland Baptist Church and a former deacon at Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Waddell Clemons of Hartselle; three sons, Allen Clemons and wife Edie of Maryville, Tenn., Jimmy W. Clemons and wife Beatrix of the American Embassy in Bahrain and John E. Clemons and wife Jan of Decatur; two daughters, Dianne Bush and husband Milton of Decatur and Anita Ward and husband Del of Hartselle; a brother, Bennie Clemons of Moulton; three sisters, Mildred Terry of Taylor, Mich. and Evelyn Harvel and Lucille Lackey, both of Hartselle; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Allen Todd Clemons, Jonathan Clemons, Nick Ward, Kris Ward, Jason Hipps and Mac Hipps.
Honorary pallbearers were the Rev. Leon Dawson, Donald Locke, J.E. "Pete" Ward, James Sandlin, Dr. Steve Chandler, Mike Nix and Danny Garrison.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
