Lodine 'Maw Maw' Prater

Funeral for Lodine "Maw Maw" Prater, 88, of Danville was Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at Speake Christian Fellowship Church with the Revs. Willie Delashaw and Francis Proctor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery south of Danville.
Mrs. Prater died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at her residence. She was born Aug. 26, 1917, in Morgan County to Monroe Dan Walker and NeVady Legg Walker. She was a homemaker. She loved gardening, sewing and quilting. She was a great cook and caregiver.
She was a spiritual leader to all around her. Her desire was to see everyone serving God. She was a member of Lebanon Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian Prater and a daughter, Tammy Kay Posey.
She is survived by two sons, James Ray Prater of Danville and Al and Scotty Prater of Decatur; five daughters, Cleo Thompson, Gearldine Fulmer, Silvia Proctor, Nancy Weaver and Carolyn Archer, all of Danville; a sister, Lucille Walker of Danville; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rodney Weaver, Timothy Proctor, Jonathan Proctor, Stephen Proctor, Jeremiah Posey, Dustin Posey, Billy Thompson, Yancy Thompson, Jeff Prater and Paul Prater.
