It's time to retire some favorites

I love Christmas. I love the lights, the trees, the festive atmosphere. I love the look on children's faces when they see Santa Claus and the way you can use that "he knows when you've been sleeping, he knows when you're awake" thing to keep them in line for most of the month. I love December church services, especially anything involving a young child wearing a fake beard and a bed sheet as a shepherd's costume.
I love Christmas. Well, mostly.
I have to admit there are some things about our traditional holiday celebrations I am not too wild about. With that in mind, I think we should eliminate these things all together.
So, Santa, if you're listening, here is my wish list, or anti-wish list, as it is:
Santa, I hope you don't mind me dumping these things on you. I love Christmas and most of the things it brings. It's just those few flies in the eggnog I could certainly do without.
