Norman Sherrill Vest

Funeral for Norman Sherrill Vest, 67, of Decatur will be Thursday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with the Revs. David Kelly and Wayne Penn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state one hour at the church prior to the service.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Vest died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at his residence. He was born Sept. 30, 1938, to Dean S. Vest and Gladys Smith Vest in Morgan County. He was a member of the 16th Ave. Baptist Church in Decatur. He was retired as an engineer with the Alabama Department of Transportation after 30 plus years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Mary S. Vest of Decatur; two sons, Michael Vest of Oxford and Mitchell S. Vest of Decatur; a brother, Duel Wayne Vest of Decatur; a sister, Helen Pickett of Toney; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Bradley, Ussery Peebles, Herman Terry Jr., Mile Canthren, Donnie McDonald and James Theusch.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Vest and Jared Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of The Valley.
