Annie Ruth 'Ann' Tomlinson

Funeral for Annie Ruth "Ann" Tomlinson, 85, of Danville was Sunday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ron Manly, Tom Campbell and Larry Thrasher officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Tomlinson died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at her residence. She was born March 25, 1920, in Jefferson County to the Rev. J. L. McHugh Sr. and Rosa E. Cothran McHugh. Known as "granny" to all who knew and loved her, she had a positive influence on everyone she met. She was a beloved Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Granny was an avid gardener and wonderful cook. Her green thumb, wisdom and nurturing patience flowered every seed she sowed. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truitt Tomlinson, a son, John Arthur Tomlinson; four brothers, Riley McHugh, Bernie McHugh, J. L. McHugh Jr. and Lamar McHugh; two sisters, Edith Neill and Edna Taliaferro; and son-in-law, George W. Mangum Sr.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Landers and husband Doyle of Hartselle and Joy Mangum of Danville; a brother, John Wesley McHugh and wife Joyce of Steele; a sister, Marie M. Buffington and husband Ormand of Springville; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Doyle Landers, Michael Landers, Jimmy Dobbins, Russell Ellis, Tony Linderman and Jason Tomlinson.
Honorary pallbearers were friends and former co-workers of Woodard Electric and the former Electro-Design.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
