Weddings and engagements

Riggins, Frye exchange vows
Shana Nicole Riggins of Danville and Jason Roy Frye of Hartselle were wed July 2, 2005, at noon on the grounds of the bride's parents' home with Jeremy Hudgins officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David and Debbie Riggins of Danville. The groom is the son of Bobby Frye of Hartselle and the late Janice Frye.
Guests sat under a white tent decorated with white bows and ferns. The bride and groom stood under a garden arch decorated with lavender hydrangeas, white wisteria, ivy and white French tulle.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless A-line gown of white satin with a chapel length train.
The fitted corset bodice and hemline featured crystal beading and an embroidered design. Her veil of white French tulle was accented in crystal beads.
She carried a bouquet of white wedding lilies and lavender hydrangeas accented with ivy, pearls and iridescent ribbon.
Elizabeth Kimbrough of Hartselle was maid of honor. She wore a sage green dress and carried a bouquet of lavender hydrangeas and sage green roses.
ShaiAnn Ferguson of Hartselle was flower girl.
Chad Bloodworth of Hartselle was best man.
Ushers were Shannon Riggins of Danville and Jamey Barbre of Hartselle.
Music was provided by Seth Kimbrough of Hartselle.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held inside the home.
The bride's table was decorated with lavender and white lace tablecloths and crystal candle sconce. It featured a three-tier white basket weave cake decorated with lavender hydrangeas.
The groom's table was decorated to show the groom's favorite hobby of fishing. It featured a sheet cake decorated to look like a lake with pebble stones, grass and bass fish.
Mary Roy of Falkville, Cherie Fullen of Decatur, Angie Jackson and Heather Aldridge of Hartselle, and Linda Lawrence of Danville assisted with the reception.
Thresa Riggins of Danville attended the bride's book.
The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn. They reside in Hartselle.
A rehearsal dinner hosted by both the bride's and groom's families was held July 1 at the wedding site.

Brenda Hardy of Hartselle and Robert Ray Jenkins of Decatur announce the engagement of their daughter, Monica Leigh Jenkins of Birmingham, to Michael Anthony Vercher of Birmingham, son of Mrs. Judith Lynnell Vercher of Birmingham and the late Paul Edwin Vercher Sr.
The bride-elect is a 1995 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2000 graduate of Athens State University with a bachelor's degree in human resources and marketing. She is employed with NBC Securities, Inc. of Birmingham.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ibra Jenkins of Decatur, the late Luther Raymond Jenkins, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Tucker Wallace.
The groom-elect is a 1992 graduate of Montgomery Catholic High School, a 1996 cum laude graduate of The University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in communications, and a 1999 cum laude graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law. He is a partner at Christian &Small, LLP of Birmingham.
He is a council member of the Young Lawyer's Division of the American Bar Association and the Birmingham Bar Association.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leander Joseph Vercher and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Robert McLain.
The wedding will be held Oct. 8 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Orange Beach.
