Scouts learn proper fire procedures, experience a blaze first hand
Hartselle Christian Church and the Hartselle Fire Department teamed up together to offer fire safety training for Eagle Scout troop 142. Captain Nesmith and his crew taught the Eagle Scout troop fire safety inside and outside the home. The fire department also did a practice burn on a barn on the Hartselle Christian Church property.
The barn was a safety hazard that was being cleared for future development. Troop 142 earned a Fire Merit badge. Kevin Gross of troop 142 will be doing some work around the church to enhance its appearance while working toward another badge.
