Funeral for Clarence Whitten Jr., 65, of Decatur was Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Whitten died Sat., Aug. 6, 2005, at his residence. He was born May 11, 1940, in Sumter County to Clarence Samuel Whitten Sr. and Emelyn Whitten. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Whitten, Sr.; and a sister, Gloria Whitten.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Whitten of Decatur; one son, Travis Whitten of Alabama; two daughters, Paige Cook of Alabama and Amy Garner of Florida; his mother, Emelyn Whitten of Decatur; one sister, Ann Whitten of Alabama; and several grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Medford Long, Billy Wynn, Tom Blanton, Billy Woodall, Ben "Junior" Roper and Bud Wynn.
