All-Stars win sub-district championship

The Hartselle Dixie Boys 14-year-old All-Stars began District 1 tournament play on July 7 at 6 p.m., opening with Limestone National. The 14-year-old All Stars won the Central Sub – Western District 1 championship by defeating the Lawrence County Nationals in a best two-out-of-three series.
The 14-year-old All-Stars swept the Nationals by the score of 13 – 12 and 12 – 8.
On June 24th, the 14-year-old All Stars gave up seven runs in the first two innings. In the bottom of the second inning the Hartselle bats came alive and the team scored four runs.
Hartselle's only lead of the game came in the bottom of the 8th when Nick Howard crossed the plate due to an errant throw by the Nationals. Nick Howard and Manquez Jones each collected a double and a single in the contest and Josh Slaten added two singles. Michael Hasse slapped a double. Braddock Wilson, Clay Turney, Seth Russell and Daryn Raley each came through with a single. Walton Ashwander earned the victory on the mound for Hartselle.
On June 25, Hartselle made it two in a row by defeating Lawrence County 12-8. Clay Turney earned the win on the mound and Nick Howard led the offensive attack for Hartselle with three singles and a double.
Josh Slaten also had a strong performance with two singles and a double. Manquez Jones, Clay Turney and Will Ellis each had two singles.
Braddock Wilson, Michael "Slick" Hasse and Daryn Raley each added singles.
The 2005 14-year-old Hartselle All-Stars are Walton Ashwander, Houston Cleveland, Will Ellis, Michael Hasse, Nick Howard, David Jackson, Manquez Jones, Daryn Raley, Seth Russell, Josh Slaten, Matt Tortorano, Clay Turney and Braddock Wilson.
13-Year-Old All-Stars advance to district
The Hartselle Dixie Boys 13-year-old All Stars began District 1 tournament play in Cherokee on July 8 at 6 p.m., playing the opening round winner between Decatur American and Morgan County. The 13-year-old All-Stars won the Central Sub-western District 1 championship by defeating Morgan County 4-3.
Tres Austin led the way at the plate for the Hartselle All-Stars with three singles. Daniel Wilhite slapped a double.
Ben Teichmiller and Zac Letson each added a single.
The 2005 Hartselle 13-year-old Dixie Boys All-Stars are Tres Austin, Tyler Bennett, Ethan Boggs, Clay Chandler, Chase Fowler, Jake Heym, Zac Letson, Aaron Lee, Michael McMurry, Nathan Owen, Ben Teichmiller and Daniel Wilhite.
